Brainspotting is an outgrowth of David Grand’s innovative discoveries while doing EMDR therapy and following his hunches about what his clients were telling them about processing. Following an intervention with an elite athlete, who asked him to hold the pointer at a single spot, he began to recognize that eye position can be as important as the rest of the protocol. While Brainspotting has evolved as a separate discipline now independent of EMDR, the two forms of treatment have much to offer each other. This presentation will be a bridge for EMDR practitioners, stimulate curiosity about a very creative outgrowth of our favorite tools, and provide a link for further Brainspotting training.  For further information about Brainspotting and a schedule of upcoming training, visit the Brainspotting website.

Dr. LaMotte has been practicing Brainspotting since 2000, and he leads a BSP study group in Long Beach, California that meets once per month. He is currently researching patterns of Brainspots in the visual field, conducting 9-point BSP assessments with a growing sample of over 50 subjects.

Come network with EMDR clinicians, learn from a great speaker about a topic in the EMDR field, give and receive support from your peers in the Southern California area.  RSVP at the bottom of this screen.
