Dr. Colin Ross: EMDR And Dissociation: Diagnosis And Treatment Of Complex Dissociative Disorders

This workshop covers clinical interview techniques for dissociative identity disorder (DID).

Dr. Ross will explain assessment tools including the Dissociative Experiences Scale and Dissociative Disorders Interview Schedule. He will describe techniques and strategies for stabilization of DID that are of particular use in the History, Preparation and Assessment phases of EMDR Therapy.

The workshop emphasizes that poor EMDR outcomes often result from unrecognized DID and premature bilateral stimulation, with practical case examples provided.

Colin Ross, MD

Dr. Colin Ross is an internationally renowned clinician, researcher, author and lecturer in the field of dissociation and trauma-related disorders. He founded The Colin A. Ross Institute for Psychological Trauma, earned his M.D. from the University of Alberta (1981), and completed psychiatry training at the University of Manitoba (1985). Since 1991, he has directed a hospital-based trauma program in Dallas. He has authored 29 books and 200+ professional papers and served as past President of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation.
