Joan LovettJoan Lovett, MD, who used EMDR in her behavioral pediatrics practice for over 25 years, will present “Using EMDR and Narrative to Help Children Resolve Trauma” for EMDR Connect on Saturday, February 13, 2021.  She will talk about the “why, when and how” of using therapeutic storytelling, and she will show videos of clinical sessions
with children who were able to resolve trauma using a combination of narrative and EMDR. She will also discuss some of the cases in her books, Small Wonders: Healing Childhood Trauma with EMDR (The Free Press) and Trauma-Attachment Tangle: Modifying EMDR to help children resolve trauma and develop loving relationships (Routledge).

Joan Lovett, MD is a retired behavioral pediatrician who used EMDR in her practice for over 25 years. She was an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and gave many presentations on EMDR with children nationally and internationally. She is the author of Small Wonders: Healing Childhood Trauma with EMDR (The Free Press) and Trauma-Attachment Tangle: Modifying EMDR to help children resolve trauma and develop loving relationships (Routledge).
